Vodafone has sold the 45 percent to stake in the Verizon Wireless US telecoms group Verizon Communications in one of the biggest deals in corporate history.
The $130bn (£84bn) deal has been announced by the Vodafone after close of trading in the London Stock Exchanges.
The company will return £54bn to shareholders for which the £22bn it will go to the shareholders in UK.
Vodafone has been invest the money in the business with funds earmarked for high speed mobile phone in the network company.
